Mobile racks
Mobile racking systems are particularly suitable for compact storage of palletized goods when these are present in medium to large quantities of goods and in a large variety of articles. In contrast to conventional racking, storage capacity can be increased by up to 90% (see graphic), with each pallet being accessed individually. Existing buildings can also be retrofitted. The prerequisite for this warehouse is particularly good preliminary planning. The warehouse turnover must not be too high and must be managed with few forklifts.
Advantages
Best use of space with great flexibility in the structure of goods. It is possible to work with simple front stackers.
Disadvantages due to system-related additional expenses
Higher acquisition costs and considerable construction work (rails). The turnover speed of the warehouse is limited.
Mobile racking systems can be realized not only with pallet racks, but also with cantilever racks or wide racks.
Security Systems
The transfer car system is equipped with active and passive safety systems. Photocells in the longitudinal direction of the transfer car for safeguarding the individual work cycle. The photocells are optimally protected against mechanical damage as they are integrated into the carriage structure. Front photocells in the transverse direction for access protection for the complete work aisles of the system.
Enable switch
The enable switch is placed inside the gear. This must be actuated so that the equipment can be moved. The position of the switch is such that the operator is forced to check the current situation in the aisle (obstacles, people, etc.). If the release is from the (optional) remote control on the forklift, the relevant light barrier must be deliberately interrupted. This means that the forklift operator must take a position that allows checking the aisle.
